                                          Stella Maris ( our island catholic church)  holds the steeple that is referred to as Star of the Sea .   Star of the Sea is know by its high  presence over the waters to protect  our peace and calmness on Sullivans Island.

                                           It was the routine of going to my studio and painting over  this canvas   (for the third time ).   I actually left parts of the underpainting.   I seemed to be more inspired by painting  on an old canvas  than a clean white surface.   I like the texture and the history of the under the painting.  This one will not be painted over.
