The Beautiful Hat Ladies of Hollywood South Carolina.

Exciting day. This 8x10 painting was juried into the Mojo Art Show , opening tonight. I have been working on a body of work that hopefully captures the grace and traditions of these ladies wearing their hats and amazing dresses , shoes , purses, and jewels. The ladies are from Hollywood, South Carolina . We meet several times a month I paint and they tell me stories, sing, pray, and together it is magic. nfs. until March of 2012 just found out that the painting received honorable mention. Yeah.... .

This was the second painting of this beautiful lavender container that I bought from my friend's antique boutique. It has the perfect wabi sabi feel with the rust on the edges . Some how the colors were natural complements.
