Turquoise Horizon

Always a challenge to paint our Lowcountry Spanish Moss. The colors of our moss reflect grey tones there is a unique texture and the airy quality captures movement. Oh and some how while one is painting our unique Spanish Moss it always says " elegant". A Challenge!

Singing

The Warmth of the Creek.

While standing on the banks of the creek of Kiawah Island the sun started to set which allowed the colors to sing. This is a small study (5x7) oil. If interested go The Charleston Artist Collective. Which will be posted on Feb. 1st.

Beginnings.

This is the first drawing of the Hat Ladies series . This project started in April of 2010. I look forward to the warmer weather so I can get back to painting on Johns Island with the ladies. nfs. this is a gift to my brother and sister inlaw for Christmas. It will be at the Hat Lady show in March of 2012.

The colors are more subtle in November. While standing by the edge of the marsh an Eagle flew to the top of the tree to the left.. I stood very still. sold

Resting

It is interesting to have repeat models. Fritz is evolving as a model just as we are evolving at drawing. This drawing is reflective of his dramatic side . With timed drawings you often dont see the big picture until the time is up. When reviewing this drawing , I thought it interesting that the background and foreground both reflect the shape of the cross
