"That adversity is a terrible reality is absolutely undeniable. No spiritual teaching will tell you that, whatever happens, you must naively repeat: ‘I’m happy, I’m happy…’ It will simply say that in the midst of your ordeals you must never lose hope, and that the suffering affecting you on one plane does not prevent you from experiencing joy on another. It will tell you above all that, no matter what comes your way, you can always carry out a work with thought, which will enable you not only to stand strong in the midst of your ordeals but to emerge from them enriched. And you will not keep these riches for yourself. By your attitude, by the way you confront these events, you will share them with others."
I am a native of Charleston , South Carolina. My early artistic expression was through the lens of a camera where it was a passion to capture the unique expressions of the human spirit. That passion is still alive , but through paint brush, ink, and oils. I am most inspired when painting from observation of life and nature.
I am in my third year at The Art Academy University online MFA. My classes have challenged and inspired me more than I ever imagined. I am in my fifth year of being a member of The Charleston Artist Collective online gallery. It has been a great experience to be with a local group of artist who stretch with the monthly themes all the while giving back to our community a percentage of our sales. It is also a pleasure to be showing in a new gallery in Charlottesville, Va. with a talented group of artist from around the country.
